PROGRAM DIRECTOR – RIVER FUND, INC.

Shift: Flexible, Day Shift Weekdays – Salaried Part-Time (30 hours per week)

How will you contribute: As the River Fund Program Director, you will be leading an organization’s daily operations, strategic planning, and mission fulfillment. Key duties include fundraising, financial management, staff leadership, and board relations. You will act as the public face of the organization, ensuring compliance and driving community impact. You will be reporting to the Board of Directors.

About us: The River Fund, Inc. is a local non-profit agency providing direct emergency and crisis services to families and individuals in Bullhead City, Ft. Mohave, Golden Shores/Topock, Golden Valley and Mohave Valley, Arizona. Services are also provided to Laughlin, Nevada and Needles, California. River Fund provides additional services through grant programs established to assist other non-profit organizations engaged in similar humanitarian programs. River Fund currently has two offices – Bullhead City, Arizona and Laughlin, Nevada.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or 10+ years’ experience as a non-profit Executive Director or similar management experience in an operational environment required.
  • Experience running fundraising initiatives, grant writing; entrepreneurial drive required.
  • Strong computer skills to be able to use various software programs such as QuickBooks, Excel, Word, Adobe, etc.
  • Passion for interacting with and serving other people.
  • Demonstrated experience with volunteer recruitment/involvement for success of the organization required.
  • Financial/forecasting knowledge required to provide statistical and events/grants reports to Board of Directors.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) required.
  • Ability to speak in front of audiences and lead meetings is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Grant management: Retain and expand current grants and obtain future grants to ensure sustainability of the organization.

  • Provide long-term strategic and day-to-day operational leadership of the organization under the direction of and in collaboration with the Board of Directors
  • Provide accurate and timely analyses that capture and communicate fundraising results, variances and performance trends
  • Provide guidance and strategic direction to achieve the organization’s mission and goals
  • Ensure sustainability of the organization through effective fundraising and donor relations, sponsorships and earned revenue in a disciplined and prudent manner
  • Supervise and retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and volunteers by providing coaching, growth and development
  • Incorporate a spirit of innovation with an eye toward piloting new ideas that will maximize existing work
  • Drive the organization’s success and make a positive impact in the community
  • Research and recommend to the Board of Directors major systems upgrades and implementations
